Description

Bits and Blocks is a fat quarter friendly pieced quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. Small “bits” blocks cut from fat quarters are combined with larger blocks cut from ⅓ yd pieces, then framed with an inner and outer border. It comes in five sizes, from a square baby quilt right through to king.

Finished sizes

  • Baby — 46½” x 46½” (4 fat quarters)
  • Throw — 55½” x 73½” (10 fat quarters)
  • Twin/Double — 64½” x 82½” (14 fat quarters)
  • Queen — 91½” x 109½” (30 fat quarters)
  • King — 100½” x 118½” (36 fat quarters)

Fabric requirements

The big blocks use 1 to 3 ⅓ yd cuts depending on size, and yardage is charted for the inner border, outer border, binding and backing, plus the batting size needed.

Good to know

After washing, fat quarters must measure at least 17″ x 20″.
