The Big Tote is a bag pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Nani Kaai. It is built from three fabrics over heavy duty fusible interfacing with 1″ cotton webbing handles, and it is sized to carry king size quilts, bolts of fabric and large cutting rulers. If you have been looking for a bag that actually fits a quilt project, this is that bag.

Fabric requirements

  • Fabric A (outside main body) — 1⅔ yds.
  • Fabric B (outside bottom and handles) — 1 yd.
  • Fabric C (inside lining and pocket trim) — 1⅔ yds.
  • Décor Bond heavy duty fusible interfacing — 3⅓ yds.
  • 1″ cotton webbing — 3 yds.

Techniques used

  • Bag construction over fusible interfacing
  • All seams based on a ½” seam allowance
