Description

Frequency is a 2½” strip friendly quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. One set of 40 precut strips is cut to a supplied layout and joined with an accent fabric so the pieces step across the quilt in a pulsing, wave-like rhythm. A full-page layout sheet is included, and the pattern is written so a single jelly roll covers the strip requirement.

72½” x 92½”, including the optional inner border

Fabric requirements

  • One set of 2½” strips (40 strips needed), or 2¾ yds of yardage
  • Accent — 1⅝ yds
  • Inner border (optional) — ⅜ yd
  • Outer border — 1½ yds
  • Binding — ⅔ yd
  • Backing — 5⅝ yds
  • Batting — 80″ x 100″

Techniques used

  • Strip piecing to a printed layout sheet
  • Based on a ¼” seam allowance

Good to know

  • Strips need to be a minimum of 41″ long.
  • Lay the strips out in the order you want before making any cuts, and mark each row as you cut it.
